Choose Your Hosting Provider
Your hosting provider stores your website files and serves them to visitors. For most new websites, shared hosting is more than sufficient.
Our recommendations:
- Hostinger ($2.99/month) — Best value. Fast LiteSpeed servers, free domain, one-click WordPress install.
- SiteGround ($3.99/month) — Best uptime and support. 99.99% uptime guarantee.
- Shopify ($39/month) — Best for ecommerce. Complete store platform with hosting included.
For the Premium plan at Hostinger, you get 100 websites, 100GB NVMe storage, unlimited bandwidth, and a free domain for the first year.
Sign up for the longest term available (48 months for Hostinger) to lock in the introductory price. Monthly billing is 3-4x more expensive.

Purchase Your Plan and Set Up Your Account
After choosing your host:
- Select your plan — Premium (Hostinger) or StartUp (SiteGround) for most new sites.
- Choose your billing period — longest available for best pricing.
- Register or connect your domain — If you already have a domain from a separate registrar, you will connect it via DNS later. If not, claim the free domain included with your plan.
- Create your account with a strong password and enable 2FA.
- Complete payment and wait for account activation (usually instant).
Once your account is active, you will see the hosting dashboard — hPanel for Hostinger, Site Tools for SiteGround, or the Shopify admin.
Install WordPress or Your Builder
On Hostinger: 1. Go to your hPanel dashboard. 2. Click "Website" then "Auto Installer." 3. Select WordPress. 4. Enter your site title, admin username, and password. 5. Click Install. WordPress is live in under 2 minutes.
On SiteGround: 1. Go to Site Tools > WordPress > Install & Manage. 2. Fill in your site details. 3. Click Install.
On Shopify: Shopify is already set up — no separate CMS installation needed. Start by choosing a theme.
After installation, log into your WordPress admin at yourdomain.com/wp-admin. Choose a theme, install essential plugins (Yoast SEO, a caching plugin), and start adding content.
Connect Your Domain
If you registered your domain separately from your hosting, you need to point it to your hosting server.
Option 1: Change nameservers (simplest)
At your domain registrar, change the nameservers to your hosting provider's nameservers. For Hostinger, these are shown in hPanel under Hosting > Plan Details.
Option 2: Update DNS records (more control)
At your registrar's DNS settings, add an A record pointing to your hosting server's IP address (shown in your hosting dashboard).
Wait for DNS propagation (5-30 minutes typically). Verify by visiting your domain in a browser.
Enable SSL: Most hosts auto-provision free SSL via Let's Encrypt. Check your hosting dashboard to confirm HTTPS is active. If not, enable it manually — look for "SSL" or "Security" in your hosting control panel.
Go Live
Your website is now accessible. Before announcing it:
- Add essential pages: Home, About, Contact, Privacy Policy.
- Set up Google Search Console: Add your domain, verify ownership via DNS TXT record, and submit your sitemap (yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml).
- Install analytics: Add Google Analytics or Vercel Analytics to track visitors.
- Test on mobile: Visit your site on a phone to check responsive design.
- Check page speed: Run your site through PageSpeed Insights. Aim for 90+ on all metrics.
- Set up email: Configure professional email (info@yourdomain.com) through your hosting provider or Google Workspace.
